The Artistic Archives and Sylvie Buisson are pleased to have participated in the exhibition that the Musée Faure is dedicating to Foujita, from June 18 to October 31.

Often described as the “most charming museum” in Rhône-Alpes, the Musée Faure was founded in 1949 to house the legacy of Doctor Jean Faure, inventor of L’élixir Bonjean.

A collection so rich it could serve as a true history of art from the 17th to the 19th centuries: Academicism (Fantin-Latour), Romanticism, Realism (Corot), Pre-Impressionism (Jongkind, Boudin), Impressionism (Pissaro), Pre-Cubism (Cézanne), Nabi movement (Bonnard, Vuillard)… up to the School of Paris with Foujita, from whom Dr. Faure purchased two paintings depicting female nudes, quite characteristic of this white period of the early twenties.

Sculpture enthusiasts are also delighted, as the museum also houses the second-largest collection of Rodin’s works in France, as well as others signed by Carpeaux, Boucher, and more.

Literature lovers will visit a reconstruction of the room Lamartine occupied from 1816 to 1830.

The “Les Chimères” Villa (motifs of the colorful frieze adorning the frontispieces), which serves as the museum’s setting, confirms the refinement of the place.
